Welcome to JUNE’s edition of the DOGGONE! Newsletter

It’s been a wild ride!

11 months in the making.

Gazzilians of £££’s and lots of blood, sweat and even a few tears…..

Yet the phrase, “All’s well, that ends well” seems very appropriate.

Since opening PACKINGTON MEADOW in December of 2020, the DOGGONE community grew and we always dreamt of creating another magical space for dogs to live their best lives.

It seems, and I’m trying to be humble, that from your feedback and the fact that the WILD WOODS is fully booked for several weeks ahead, that maybe; we actually did it.

It’s difficult to express fully the joy we feel when we see your videos and photos of you and your best fur buddies racing around, or simply meandering in a world of scents and sensations in the woods.

Following a couple of weeks ‘testing’ the woods and listening to feedback, we adjusted several issues and there are still more projects we aim to complete soon, such as:

1. Provide more seating options

2. Create a sheltered area

3. Add another and more permanent water station

4. Get the Landlord to fill those damn pot holes! (Partially done now)

5. Create even more paths to explore

6. Strengthening some parts of the fence

7. Dispose of all the Triffids (aka Brambles!) LOL

Booking is now open all year round (Yes, even Christmas & New Years Day!), and groups of 7-8 and 9-10 dogs are available. We stipulate the requirement for a minimum of 2 adult hoomans with 7 or more dogs.

This is for the safety of the dogs and humans alike, to ensure the cleanliness of the woods is maintained and……. well, what would you do if you came a cross a Bear or a Yeti? 👇

Zeal, our late border collie, who is the inspiration for DOGGONE secure walking parks, would have burst at the seams being let free at the WILD WOODS.

So please, enjoy it to the fullest, take time for yourself to relax there to have a breather and connect with nature, as Zeal would have wanted you to.

Many people have enquired about local eateries close to the woods and there are some lovely places to visit near by.

For a dog friendly pub, The Ferrers Arms in Lount, less than a mile away, provides a wide range of menu options, beer garden and more.

Highly recommended is the Wellie Deli. Afternoon teas require advanced booking and they are closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Located just half a mile from the WILD WOODS main entrance.

Owning a ‘reactive’ dog can be draining and daunting.

If you experience:

• Walking your dog at antisocial times to avoid other dogs and people
