I digress……

The scent of freshly cut grass, happy chirping birds and the sound of the lambs bleating their merry hearts out…….has made us want to share the love ❤️

WILD WOODS UPDATE

Light at a very long, gnarly tunnel!

There is always such a great response to facebook posts any time I upload a video on the progress being made at the new DOGGONE WILD WOODS.

I can only offer my empathy to your waiting and desiring of the natural beauty of which you have all been yearning for, for soooo long.

It will all be worth the wait……

I promise….

Scouts honour….

Dib dib, dob dob.

Nearly 1000 meters of 6 foot hight deer fencing has been erected.

Twice this distance of wild, untamed thickets of sprawling triffids have been sliced, beaten and mulched.

I have to say…….

I HATE brambles.

I have cried, bled and landed face and buttocks first so many times because of brambles, I’m surprised I have not been found boots up and face down being eaten by bugs.

I still have all my fingers and toes…….despite fighting chain saws and thumping great petrol post bashers.

But, my nature loving, dog cuddling fellow hoomans; the end is near.

Or should I say, the beginning is near…..

In the next few days, the perimeter will be secure!!

After that, theres a few tonnes of gravel sat waiting for me to spread, shovel in hand and more work on path clearing.

You will be pleased to know, by the end of April all major projects on the WILD WOODS will be completed, with only a list (all be it a long list) of fine tuning to do.

What does this mean?

This means…..

We will be open in May!

But WHEN!!!!! I hear you cry.

Fingers crossed…….we will open the enclosed car park and the gates to all of you, yes YOU, subscribers around the second or third week of May.

Maybe even earlier if the tree gods are on our side.

Bare in mind, this will still be a work in progress.

The same as when we opened DOGGONE Packington Meadow, the field was secure, the gates were open, booking sites created, but there was still more to do.

After all, it’s not Robins, Squirrels or the sun shining through the branches, nor is it the tall trees that will make the wild woods a magical place.

The magic will come when the woods have you there.

There’s an old saying, “If a tree falls in the forest and there’s no one to there to see it, did it happen?”

Who knows?

What we do know is, having left the woods in all it’s naturalness to the best of our ability, whilst providing a secure and accessible space for your dogs to experience their long lost desire for wilderness, there are many psithuristic moments waiting to be enjoyed.

We’ll keep you posted.

You’ll be the first to know and the first to have access to the bookings.
